Ronald E. Whalen, Sr., 70, passed away at 8:51pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born on July 19, 1954, in Alton, the son of the late Donald and Mary (Conner) Whalen. Survivors include a daughter and son in law: Brandy and Derek Kelley of Glen Carbon, a son: Ronnie Whalen, Jr. of Alton, three grandchildren: Dakota Sanders, Camden Kelley, Makenna Kelley, three sisters and a brother in law: Pam Carter of Hartford, Sherry and Kevin Smith of Hartford, Cathy Arnold of Missouri, a brother and sister in law: Donald and Jolene Whalen of Oklahoma, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Ronald was formerly employed as a fuel tankerman at Economy Boat Store in Hartford.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
