Edwardsville: Rosa Lee (Adams) Bloomer, formerly of Godfrey, died of natural causes, in her own way, on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 9:45 AM. She would want you to know “I am a volunteer & I help people.” “That’s what I do.” Rose Lee grew up in a family of 12 children in Southern Illinois & always had interesting stories to share about her upbringing. She love, love, loved her mother & stayed close to her mother & family throughout her life despite moving up to “the big city” of Alton, working independently in clerical work & clothing/design & fashion. During this period of time, Rosa Lee met John R. Bloomer, fell in love, loved how “smart he was,” and stated “I always wanted to have smart kids” so she decided to accept his proposal. Rosa Lee was rock solid in her support of her husband throughout their 60 + years of marriage which ended 4 years ago upon his death. Our mother was outspoken, high energy, talented in too many ways to list, & above all “determined” in everything she set her mind to do. Survivors of Rosa Lee are: Russel G. Adams who lives in Carmi Illinois (younger sibling), Children: Deborah A. Bloomer, Thomas J. Bloomer, Vivien L. Bloomer Bliss & Terrence R. Bliss. She also has 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 grand dogs & 2 grand cats.
