Sally K. Carr, 87, passed away at 11:43pm on Monday, February 13, 2023, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital. She was born April 3, 1935, in Zeigler, Illinois, the daughter of the late Roy and Hannah Ellen (Kennedy) Clark. She married Carrol Carr on August 15, 1956, in Carbondale, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2020. Survivors include three daughters and a son in law: Mary Clausen of Wood River, Sarah Carr of Wood River, Margy and Joe Clark of Caseyville, one son and daughter in law: Kevin and Tammy Carr of Bethalto, seven grandchildren: Robbie Clausen, Jenna Clausen – Voorhees, Jaclyn Carr and her husband: Shawn Brodie, James Carr, Patrick Kennedy, Kathryn Held, Eric Held, a great grandson, and many other extended family and friends.


Sally was employed as a school teacher at St. Bernard’s Catholic School for twelve years prior to going to work for the next twenty years at St. Boniface School in Edwardsville. She was a member of Holy Angels Parish in Wood River.


In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Patrick Wayne Carr and a brother: James Clark.


In celebration of her, memorial visitation will be from 12pm until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 2pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Holy Angels Parish in Wood River. Father Tom Liebler will be the celebrant. Private burial will be at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton at a later date.


Memorials are suggested to Holy Angels Parish.
