Sandra Kay (Mott) Agney

Sandra Kay (Mott) Agney, 63, passed away at 11:09am on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Barnes – Jewish Hospital. She was born on July 5, 1960, in Granite City, the daughter of the late John (Jack) and Betty (Cox) Mott. She married Raymond Agney on April 8, 1977, and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Lisa and Jason Carpenter of Brighton, Christal and Clint Carpenter of East Alton, a son and daughter in law: Raymond (Pete) and Terri Agney, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri, eight grandchildren: Brianna (Nick), Cody, Dilon, Makayla (Jay Jay), Jacob, Logan (Brittany), Zachary, four great grandchildren: Sophia, Keeley, Avalynn, Willard, two sisters and a brother in law: Wanda Miller of Worden, Diane and Don Cox of Dorsey, Kevin and Carol Mott of Cottage Hills, four brothers and three sisters in law: Kevin and Carol Mott of Cottage Hills, Terry Mott of St. Louis, Dennis and April Mott of East Alton, Randy and Amy Mott of Brighton, her two fur babies: Daisy Mae, Sissy Boo, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.


Sandy owned and operated T. Berry’s Furniture in East Alton. She was a member of the Alton Moose Lodge #951, the Wood River VFW Post 2859, and the Cottage Hills VFW Post 7678. She loved playing bingo and lightening.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Ricky Mott and Gene Smith.


In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
