Susan Smith

Wood River: Susan A. Smith, 46, passed away at 9pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at VIP Manor Nursing Home in Wood River. She was born on April 22, 1968, in Granite City, the daughter of Lowell and Linda (Crist) Phelps of Wood River. Other survivors include a daughter and son in law: Jessica and Brent Teets of Woodburn, Illinois, a granddaughter: Faith Teets of Woodburn, and a niece: Taylor Clayton of Mt. Olive. She graduated Phi Theta Kappa from Lewis and Clark Community College with a Paralegal Degree. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She loved watching CSI. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maryville. She loved spending time and spoiling her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one son: Jeffrey Smith and one sister: Jodie Clayton. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private graveside services will be held at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra. Memorials are suggested to the family to help with the purchase of a headstone.
