Theresa "Terry" Shirley

East Alton: Theresa “Terry” Shirley, 64, passed away on Sunday morning, November 20, 2016, in the emergency room at Barnes – Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on October 21, 1952, in St. Joseph, Michigan, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Moss) Pries. She married Duane “Hop” Shirley on June 26, 1971, in Hartford, and he survives. Other survivors include three sons and daughters in law: Chris and Lesa Shirley of Bethalto, Kyle and Kelley Shirley of Macoupin County, Illinois, Craig and Marci Shirley of Bethalto, four grandchildren: Brayden, Michaela, Deighton, Grant, her fur baby: Rascal, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other extended family and friends. Terry was formerly employed at East Alton School District #13 as a playground monitor and bus driver for 23 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked to rescue dogs. She was a member of Bethalto Church of God. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Bethalto Church of God. Visitation will continue from 10am until time of funeral services at 11am on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the church. Pastor Shea Hughes will officiate.
