East Alton: Thomas Esprin Oschmann – Anderson, 62, passed away at 8:09am on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in the emergency room at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born on March 12, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Charles and Eileen (Collard) Oschmann. Survivors include one daughter: Jennifer Mateus of East Alton, two grandchildren: Anthony Luis Mateus and Victoria Nicole Mateus, four sisters and two brothers in law: Betty Pigg of Owensville, Missouri, Lavada Bardsley of Bethalto, Marie and Richard Grigg of East Alton, Charlene and Randy Melton of Boise, Idaho, one brother and sister in law: John and Becky Oschmann of Clouqeut, Minnesota, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Thomas was formerly employed as a truck driver for Hatfield Trucking in Owensville, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, football, and was an avid bass fisherman. He was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge #406 and Bethel Pentecostal Church in Rosewood Heights. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Marshall Flynn, one nephew: Charles Grigg, and one niece: Heather Bardsley. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 4pm until time of memorial services at 7pm on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Rev. Royce Roy will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Pentecostal Church in Rosewood Heights and will be accepted at the funeral home.
