Vernon Joseph Michelmann

Alhambra: Vernon Joseph Michelmann, 63, passed away 2:06pm on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 5, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Vernon and Mary (Collier) Michelmann. Survivors include four sisters and two brothers in law: Verna and Gary Grim of St. Peters, Missouri, Linda and Gary Hill of Bethalto, Judith Beneze of North Dakota, Molly Wolfe of Wood River, two brothers: John Michelmann and his companion: Robin of Staunton, Illinois, Leo Michelmann and his companion: Angie of St. Peters, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Vernon was formerly employed as a deck hand for many barge companies. He enjoyed working on the river. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Beth Wheatley. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
