Vickie May (Warren) Herrin

November 17, 1957 — June 1, 2015

Jerseyville: Vickie May (Warren) Herrin, 57, of Jerseyville entered eternal rest at 8:22 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015. She died peacefully with family members by her side in South Roxana following a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 17, 1957 at Wood River Township Hospital, the daughter of Martha (Satterfield) Warren and the late Harlie Warren. Vickie graduated from Roxana High School in 1975. In 1985 she began work at General Motors in Wentzville on the assembly line. Between 1987 and 1994 she was a United Auto Workers Local 2250 committee person. In 1992 she completed the Leadership and Labor Dynamics program at the University of Oklahoma. As a mother to three, sister to five and friend to countless more, Vickie was always there to provide a shoulder to cry on, an ear to lend and smile to share. Vickie held God near and dear to her heart, and used His guidance to steer her through life. At all times Vickie chose to focus on the good in each person, and was quick to forgive and forget. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was an avid darts and pool player, and participated in several local leagues over the years. Vickie enjoyed watching sports, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams. In addition to her mother in South Roxana, survivors include her children James Lyons III of South Roxana, Sarah Lyons-Gordon of Alton and Robert (Haley) Lyons of Jerseyville; three grandsons, Ethan Lyons, Andrew Lyons and Brayden Naylor; three sisters, Belinda Warren of South Roxana, Tammy Warren of Breese and LaDonna (Pat) Cox of Summertown, Tenn.; two brothers, Michael Johnson of Kansas City and Ricky (Zena) Warren of Steelville, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews; step-mother Cheri Warren of New Haven, Mo.; and her companion Paul Meyer of Jerseyville; She was preceded in death by her father, Harlie Warren and her grandparents Cleadues and Pearl Satterfield. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 4 pm until time of services at 7 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville.
