Hartford: Victor E. Marasti, 52, passed away at 7:43am on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1964, in Litchfield, Illinois, the son of the late Victor A. and Margaret (Somerville) Marasti. He married the former Pamela Starkey on April 14, 1984, in Wanda, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters: Danielle Lafata and her husband: Nick of Springfield, Illinois, Brandi Marasti and her fiance’: Ryan Lane of Hartford, three grandchildren: Adam, Sky, Liam, an expectant grandson: Eli, and his mother in law: Colleen Starkey of Wanda. He owned and operated Vic Marasti Quality Brick Work for over 15 years. He was an amazing father, grandfather, and son in law who never missed any event of his children or grandchildren’s and was there no matter what. He was a funny guy who brought laughter to many. He loved to read and build his model tanks. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard until time of discharge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Pete, a sister: Heather, and his father in law: Dennis Starkey. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 5pm until time of memorial services at 7pm on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to the family.
