Virginia Melton

Virginia D. Melton, 75, passed away at 7:01pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in South Roxana. She was born on October 23, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Carolyn (Parsons) Byrd. She married Terry Melton in 1972 in Clayton, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2008. Survivors include a daughter: April Mitchell and her fiancé: Andy Orlando of Glen Carbon, Illinois, a son and daughter in law: Christopher and Shanna Melton of Bremerton, Washington, three grandchildren: Matthew Ash, Tayler Ash, Carter Denny, her best friend of thirty years: Cindy Denny of South Roxana, her companion of fifteen years: Willis Alcorn of Des Arc, Missouri, several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Virginia was formerly employed as a waitress and worked at the family business, Melton Tools in Piedmont, Missouri.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial will be at Carson Hill Cemetery in Mill Spring, Missouri.
