Hartford: Vivian M. Wiseman, 91, passed away at 5:17pm on Monday, November 21, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1925, in Alton, the daughter of the late Lew E. and Nancy E. (Garrett) Douglas. She married James A. Wiseman in Alton and he preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters and sons in law: Mary and Gene Flowers, Sandra and Denny Doerr, Vivian Dian and Jim O’Banion, Margaret and Bill Ryan, three sons: James Wiseman and his wife: Roxanne, Leonard “Chris” Wiseman and his wife: Joyce, Harry Wiseman and his companion: Maureen, twenty three grandchildren, thirty - nine great – grandchildren, three great – great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers in law: Shelvy Tucker, Barbara and Lowell Dossett, Brenda and Gary Brunnworth, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A homemaker and caretaker, she was a former member of the Women of the Moose in Wood River. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Charles “Chuck” Wiseman, a grandson: Vince Lavite, a granddaughter: Michelle Davis, four sisters: Juanita Wills, Julia Miller, Violet Falls, Ellen Douglas, one brother: Edward Douglas, and the love of her life: Ralph Knudson. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 6pm until time of reflection at 7:30pm on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
