East Alton:
Warren J. "Jack" Campbell, 97, passed away at 12:40pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Alton Memorial Rehab and Therapy. He was born on October 4, 1926, in Roxana, the son of the late Warren C. and Anna (Orban) Campbell. He married the former Jeannette McDonough on October 22, 1948, and she preceded him in death on May 28, 2018. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Pam and Allen Hale of East Alton, Patricia and David Harling of Highland, five grandchildren: Jason Harling, Jessica Hogg and her husband: Brandon, Amy Koch, Jacob Harling, Kristen Hale, six great grandchildren: Carter Koch, Jack Koch, Michael Hogg, Daniel Hogg, Lucas Hogg. Charlotte Hogg, two sisters in law and a brother in law: Sylvia Banks of Normal, Illinois, Joan and Jim Edwards of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Jack was employed as a teacher in the Alton School District and later at Roxana High School where he coordinated the Distributive Education program, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Evelyn Shirley, Muriel Scammahorn and Gladys Kelly.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9:30am until time of services at 11am on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Roxana Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Rodney Durr will officiate. Burial will follow at Moro Cemetery.
