Wesley A. "Wes" Roberts

Cottage Hills: Wesley A. Roberts, 76, passed away at 11:17am on Monday, January 24, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was born on December 12, 1945, in Alton, the son of the late John and Charlotte (Ward) Roberts. He married the former Linda Sechrest on September 18, 1993, in Cottage Hills, and she survives. Other survivors include his children and their spouses: Frank and Kendra Roberts of Alton, Wesley and Chrissy Roberts, Jr. of Harford, Karen and Andrew Chamberlain of Troy, Illinois, Jason and Marie Roberts of Virginia, Larry and Ronda Sechrest of Alton, Regina and Phillip Baldwin of Wood River, Dennis and Aimee Sechrest of Wood River, twenty – one grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters and a brother in law: Amy and John Reinhardt of Winfield, Missouri, Fern Grills of St. Charles, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Wes served as an expert across many professions throughout his career. He worked as a mechanic for Fred’s Towing, C & F Amoco, and Eastgate Amoco. He owned and operated Mobile Gas Station in Alton and then Roberts Hauling. He retired from Waste Management. He attended the Family of God Church in Wood River. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Sandra Sechrest Farris, two sisters: Betty Owens, Maxine Cherry, four brothers: Stanley “Butch” Roberts, Davey “Boz” Roberts, Allen “Sid” Roberts, and John Roberts. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor William Simmons will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. Due to the current CDC guidelines, face masks are required. Memorials are suggested to the Family of God Church, 224 Linton, Wood River, Illinois, 62095 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
