William Benjamin Gabriel

Bunker Hill: William Benjamin Gabriel, 81, passed away at 11:30am on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at his residence. He was born on March 26, 1935, in Alton, the son of the late Marlin and Adell (Oetkin) Gabriel. He married the former Mary JoAnn Edsall in Hardy, Arkansas, in 1953 and she preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Terri Gabriel of Bunker Hill, Elda and William Oder of South Carolina, two sons and a daughter in law: Steve and Beverly Gabriel of Easley, Missouri, Scott Gabriel of Bunker Hill, Illinois, a special grandson: Ian Gabriel who took care of William the last several years of his life, four additional grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two brothers and sisters in law: James and Nancy Gabriel of Alton, John and Evelyn Gabriel of Godfrey. He was formerly employed at Laclede Steel as a steelworker. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother: Tom Gabriel. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
