William E. Golenor

Rosewood Heights:

William E. Golenor, 79, passed away at 5:25am on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in the emergency room at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born on September 25, 1944, in Alton, the son of the late Russell and Florene (Goble) Golenor. He married the former Lynda Greer on June 29, 1968, in Alton, and she preceded him in death on May 23, 1994. Survivors include a daughter: Debbie Meyers of South Roxana, a son and daughter in law: Jim and Debbie Golenor of Rosewood Heights, four grandchildren: Billy Meyers, Jessi (fiancé: Richard) Meyers, Zach Golenor, Jake Golenor, three great grandchildren: Emmi, Kinsley, Ember, a sister: Barbara Dixon, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

William worked in the maintenance department and as an electrician at Beall Manufacturing in East Alton for over twenty – five years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved spending time with his grandkids.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy Hirschberg.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private inurnment will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
